I’m having a really hard time finding diamonds in the new 1.20 update. I used to mine around Y-level -59, but lately, I’m barely finding any, and I’m not sure if I’m mining in the best places. Does anyone have tips for finding more diamonds in the latest update? Also, do you think caves or strip mining works better now…
Y-level -58 to -59 is still the best spot, but it can help to look for exposed diamonds in large caves instead of only strip mining. Sometimes you can find several veins in one area if you explore the caves around that level. Also, don’t forget Fortune enchantments if you find any diamonds.It makes such a difference. Try enchanting books until you get Fortune III and use it on a diamond pickaxe. You’ll get way more from each ore block.
Hi, Diamonds are still best found around Y-levels -58 to -64 in the 1.20 update. If you’re strip mining, make 2×1 tunnels spaced two blocks apart, and use an Efficiency pickaxe for faster progress. Caving in lush or dripstone caves can also be great—just watch out for mobs!
